J. JohnHB Discussion starter · #5 · Dec 20, 2018. There's no problem, I am just asking a question about which magazines have proven to be reliable in Galil ACE rifles. I just got mine a week or so ago. And since then, I've used Magpul mags. And speaking purely hypothetically, a number of other steel mags work in it very well, or so I'm told.

The Gen 2 wins on safety/selector ergonomics but loses on iron sights. The Gen 1 wins on aesthetics but loses on sling mounting points/handguard versatility. I have 2 Gen 1's, ACE 5.56 SBR and ACE 308 rifle. The 308 rifle has a differently laid-out safety setup than the 5.56, and I find the 5.56 model much more difficult to quickly take off safe. Are you looking to become a paraprofessional? If you are looking for a “Spray and Pray” weapon then go ahead but for my 2 grand I want a far more accurate weapon. I would not waste my money. The original Galil rifle in Israel is very good in the 7.62 NATO but the 7.62X39 Russian round is just plain bad, the NATO 7.62 is a much more accurate round although most now use the 5.56 NATO.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves introduces the IWI Galil ACE Gen 2. This version of the ACE takes the Galil ACE - which was introduced 13 years ago in 2008 - to its next, logical evolution, with a bevy of upgrades, tweaks, and new barrel and caliber options. What's new with it, and which version should you get?I am sure the ace is a great gun. But I'm not sure if it has the same base of customizable support that the Bren 2 does. The bren is probably technically the better rifle but the ace ain't no slouch either. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm biased since I have the ACE in 5.56, but I absolutely love this rifle.1 - 5 of 5 Posts. Bret · #2 · May 5, 2023. I have a Gen1 308 Galil Ace factory SBR with an 11.8" barrel and a Zastava M77.
